Training 12.18.21

Training: On week 7 of the tactical barbell base building program. I struggle with motivation to get the runs in. They get done, but there’s still not a lot of desire to get them done. A quote I heard was the thing you don’t want to do is what you should be doing. I agree. My running is subpar and something that I should be working on. Went up to 275×5 on front squats, 275×5 on bench, and 405×5 on deads. I’ve been training with no belt as the weight is light on all of this. My front squat felt good this past week, but after my knee was irritated. I think my form has some to be desired and my knees are probably tracking too far forward. Body feels ok overall. Left Achilles is a little irritated. 

BJJ: Trained 4 times this past week. Has an appointment on Tuesday which took out a training day. I was hoping to push my training a little bit more. There are days which I view as must be at and I think I need to just start training a little more on some of the other days. Felt pretty good on the mats this past week. 

Sleep: Time in bed and time asleep was down this past week. Total sleep was down to 6:17. I’m surprised by sleep score and readiness rating was higher this week than the last one. 

Stress: Readiness was up to 78 last week which is higher than normal. Don’t really know why. HRV was up to 112ms. Holidays are generally stressful, but things are fine. Feeling a little disconnected from the holiday season. 

Diet: Pretty bad this past week. It’s easy to blame the holidays but I’m just being a little undisciplined with everything. 

Learning: Completed the ACLM course, completed CHEK program design course, working through Ray Dialio’s new book. Duolingo points 300 points this week, 580 day streak.
