Training Log 1.1.22

Start of a New Year. The timing was nice as I just finished the first week of the black protocol for Tactical Barbell. Have been working on my goals for the past couple days for what I would like to get accomplished this upcoming year. We have a kid on the way and that’s going to be exciting. I’m curious to see how my sleep goes over the next year. I have a lot that I want to get done – educationally, physical, from a career and financial perspective. I’m really trying to put a focus on community building and solidifying relationships.

Training: Didn’t write about the last week of the base building program. I was front squatting 315 for sets of 3 and felt really good with it. I think a goal over the next year or so is to do the same with 405. I think it’s achievable given numbers I’ve hit on back squat. It’s really going to take 1-2 year and will require a fair amount of upper back development. This past week I was back down to sets of 5 with 75%. Hit 260 on bench, 270 on front squat, and 53lb on weighted pull ups. Worked up to 475 for a couple sets of 5 on deads. Training felt like it was going well.

BJJ: Had 20 training sessions for the month and had 4 training sessions this past week. Was more tired than normal and rolled pretty light.

Mindfulness: Will be working through the Bible this year. Got through half of it over the past 6 months. Started a new program to get through it over the course of the year.

Sleep: Very poor the past couple weeks. Uncertain if it’s just stress over the kid or what.

Stress: Up and down. had a couple deaths last week that threw me off. I think my goal over the next year is to continue working with staff on improving our workflow so that stress continues to decrease.

Learning: started Chek HLC2, finished program design, will start a master fitness trainer course over the next month. I feel like this year has a couple good goals for learning. Would like to codify 4 finance books, 4 spiritual books to read this year.
