Training Log 10.9.23

Training: A2S 1.0 + 10k training. Squat 430×8, 405×8, 375×18. Bench – 280×8, 260×8, 240×16. OHP – 185×8, 170×8, 160×16. Cleans 205x3x6. Training overall has felt good. I’ve been consistently hitting the numbers I expect to hit. We’ll see how the testing week goes this upcoming week. I need to add a couple sets of deads back into the workout easy strength style. I never get to the gym at an hour the deadlift area is open, which has been a little frustrating.

Running: 4 runs this past week. Interval, tempo, long and recovery. I still have no desire to get these done and they’re still the most challenging thing for me.

BJJ: 4 sessions. Training has felt fine. Been doing more leg lock work, which is much needed. The inflow of random people into the gym who have experience has been enjoyable.

Sleep: Still not really on the sleep schedule that I would like. I continue goofing off on youtube prior to bed and this is significantly impacting how long it takes me to fall asleep. The duration is higher than expected and averaging 7:10 hours of sleep.

Stress: low – the paradox of getting less done with less responsibilities is most certainly true. I was looking to get a fair amount of writing done this weekend and it didn’t happen. I’m ready to get back into my old routine.

Learning: Still working through the ACLM board review course. Start up ILE in 2 weeks. Finished Black Rednecks and White Liberals, Clear Thinking and The Sports Gene this past week. Got away from Rise and Fall of the Third Reich because I got bored. Have been thinking about how to get back into a better medical reading routine.
