Training Log 2.11.24

Training:
Week 2 of BB and Triathlon from Complete Human Performance. My back was tweaked a couple weeks ago and I’m not able to tolerate significant intensity right now with my sleep being trashed from the newborn. The reduction in volume has really helped and it took about a week to adjust to the new program. This week felt fine. The morning training sessions are challenging just being tired and I’m cranking on the caffeine.

Running:
Long session and two short ones. This needs to be increased significantly. I’m happy I was able to get the long run this week.

BJJ:
2 sessions. Had to add a patient on Monday and missed that session. The weekends have been trash thus far. With the second kid I just don’t have time and it’s been frustrating.

Sleep:
Stopped tracking and stopped wearing the Oura. This is horrible right now and probably has worsened in the past couple weeks with me trying to help my wife out more. It’s going to be another couple months before I think this normalizes. I don’t have any great strategies to rebound this sleep back.

Stress:
High. Friday I was exhausted and the weekends I don’t catch up, I feel like it’s more running around and feeling guilty that I’m not able to put a fair amount of time into my work.

Learning:
I have continued working through the early program. Got through the podcasts. Started another couple books, but I don’t feel like I’m getting into anything. ILE has been trash and I just need to put more time into this program in the evenings.
