Training Log 1.14.24

We had our second kid a month ago and I feel like my life has been blown up by this change. It’s hard on my wife, it’s hard on me, it’s just a lot of change. Our family support has been minimal throughout this period which has been frustrating. Work has been very dynamic and there’s been some major positives, now the Chief Medical Officer at our company, and the challenges of scaling a practice. The cumulative stressors are just adding up and that’s been tough. Hopefully I can have a very productive week and I can get done what needs to get done. Between a recent illness for myself and now my wife is getting some viral crud it’s been challenging.

Training:
Had the flu on the testing week so I elected to just restart the block. Hit 370×12, 350×12, 320×22 on squat. Bench 245×12, 225×12, 205×25. Deads 405×12,8,8,8. OHP 165×12, 150×12, 140×20. The accessories were pretty limited this past week. I don’t have a good solution for the phase of life I’m in besides just get in the minimum of the primary movements and go home.

Running:
Two short sessions this past week.

BJJ:
3 classes. Ended up having promotions and an in-house competition on Saturday. Two of my long term training partners got their black belts which was awesome. I’m very proud of them. In house competition was a submission only quintet. I got 4 subs and lost in the absolute finals via triangle. Cardio wasn’t there at all. Glad I did it.

Stress:
Very high

Sleep:
Improving but poor with the baby. Baby turned 1 month. Sleep has increased but it’s weird broken up hours. Claim last week was I was getting 6:52 time asleep.

Learning:
Still made it through all of the podcasts. Finished My Money Journey by Jonathan Clements. Have been struggling with ILE and writing my paper and as a result my stress is very high.
