Lifting: With the transition home I elected to try restarting the operator template. I’m curious how it will go. I’ll be following the %, sets and reps based on Tactical Barbell. My lifting days will be
Day 1 – Squat, Bench, Rack Pull, bw BSS
Day 2 – Front Squat, DB Incline, Clean and Press, bw lunge
Day 3 – Deadlift, OHP, SSB Squat, bw step up
I maintained most of my training maxes to see how this feels as things move along. I’ll be training at my old gym which has much nicer equipment than I’ve been training on the past four months. The barbells I was training on had no knurling, the flooring was unstable, and I didn’t have my normal support equipment (shoes/belts). This week I continued hitting the A2S lifts as the primary movements with the expectation to transition to this program the following week. Given this is late – I have already started to do this.
BJJ: Didn’t train at all as it wasn’t available where I was the past week.
Run: 4 sessions – all were LSS
Sleep: Struggled with a major time zone change, but the sleep I was getting was better than I have been getting the past several months. Had to utilize melatonin during this time, but it all felt fine. My travel days I got shit broken up sleep and probably averaged 4-5 hours, but overall was averaging 8 hours of sleep and I don’t know the last time that I did that.
Stress: Mixed – things are hitting. Home doesn’t seem like home as we moved right before I left, my wife is very pregnant and this will reintroduce the newborn phase and I’m changing jobs. Right now appears to be the calm before the storm.
Learning: Finished David Brooks – How to Know a Person. I don’t think I was really engaged for this book. I’ve been very slow working through ILE and I’m a little disappointed I wasn’t more productive on this the past week. I need to work on establishing a consistent routine with learning and I think this will come down to having a plan. My goal is to get the plan done over the next couple days.
