Training: Finished week 5 of the operator template. Squats 445x3x3, bench 275x3x3, Rack pull 475x3x3, clean and press 175x3x3, db farmers walks and bw pull ups. Trained this MWF. I’m again struggling with the general thoughts on how to progress this over time. My body feels fine I’m just not getting anything good or bad out of these training sessions. Probably won’t work the singles and doubles next week and I’m considering easy strength. A little frustrated with my training. This is why I think I’ve found so much benefit from average to savage. It’s just hit the numbers and an AMRAP set and progress based on how it goes. Takes the thinking out of the training and there’s consistent progress over time.
Running: 3 sessions – 2 short and 1 longer. Starting next week I’m going to increase the frequency – 1 interval/hill, 1 tempo, 1 long and 2 LSS. I really would like to improve my running over the next 10 weeks and now is the time to do it.
BJJ: 2 sessions. Wife came into town with my son, so I’ll likely be off the next couple weeks then try to do a hard push of 5 sessions a week over the next 10-11 weeks. Will need to increase the calories.
Stress: low-medium – having a little big picture crisis from a work perspective and trying to figure out what I want to do over the next couple years. I think leaving my former employer is not providing as much relief as expected due to upcoming uncertainty. Have everything lined up for when I get back, but still am curious to see how things go.
Sleep: stable time asleep is 6:38. Need to continue working on improving my bed time.
Learning: finished ILE phase I, finished existential physics and Sebastian jungers book War. Will likely finish PN’s sleep, stress, and recovery course in the next 1-2 weeks. Even though I’m getting through this stuff I’m not feeling like I’m making much educational progress. I think this has to do with my overall affect more than anything else.
