Training Log 8.5.23

Training:
Week 2 Operator template. All three workouts this week were the same. 415x5x3 squat, bench 255x5x3, clean and press 175x2x3, pull up b2x5x9, deadlift 1 day a week 425x5x3. All the workouts were completed in about 45 minutes and followed by 20 min walk. Trained on MWF.

BJJ:
0x this week. Hopeful to find a gym next week and see how my body and sleep do training at night.

Run:
Three runs this week. Two 45 min LSS runs and 1 hour run today. I used the woodway treadmill on Thursday and it was a new challenge and I’m hopeful that I have access and would like to keep training on this to get more hamstring development with the runs. Felt more stress on my ankles too. Averaged about 4.5 miles on the short runs and 5.5 on the hour run.

Sleep:
I stopped using my Oura ring a couple weeks ago and have just been sleeping wearing my Garmin. Average time asleep was 6:46 with 7:30 in bed. Quality of bed is much worse and location is new so it’s probable that my quality is down, but the volume is up.

Stress:
Very low. I’m amazed at the immediate drop with a simplified one job period of time. Still have stress for closing on our new house and house were selling, but it’s easy to manage.

Learning:
Finished the second part of ILE Phase I. Finished Stress Less, Accomplish More and Buy This, Not That. Will be writing reviews to try and consolidate my key take aways. Talked with a PA with 23 years of active duty service and is now working as a contractor. He talked about how the military helped him get out of a troubled community situation. His mom was a blessing to keep him out of trouble. That he sees aging to be due to anxiety, lack of physical fitness, and tobacco use. I agree. Have continued PN’s Sleep Stress and Recovery Course as well as started Change Maker Academy.
