Training: Post Deployment – Recovery and Hypertrophy Week 4
I’ve thought this has been a good program to come off the A2S and this has continued through the first block. This past week I was on vacation and training at different gyms. I’m surprised how much I’m feeling this in my hamstrings. Felt good to finish this week back at the home gym. Rep sets were 5×4 this week. Will likely be increasing the load on the weighted carries this upcoming week. Got turf toe doing sled work in my normal Xeros which made hiking suck. Squat – 355, 380, 405. Rack Pull – 455, 475, 495. Hangs 1 min. KB Kneeling Press: 45, 50, 53.

Running:
None. First workout this past week I got turf toe bad and didn’t have supportive shoes with me. Went hiking a lot carrying my son for a total of about 35lb ruck weight.

BJJ:
Trained once over vacation. Went to Refuge in north Pheonix which was a fun gym. Normally train at Soul Fighters/Alliance and this time trained closer. Good people and it’s why I love the sport. Went to open mat today and felt great. Lots of promotions the past couple weeks and it’s awesome to see people progressing.

Sleep:
Overall poor this past week. Didn’t sleep well. Think it was primarily due to the time change and our son being in our room.

Stress:
Very high. Got unfortunate news from the company that I’m leaving and it’s mentally messed with me the past three days.

Learning:
Finished the A4M cardio lectures and started the A4M peptide 2 series. It’s been an awesome group of courses so far and I’m pleased. Finally got accepted to start ILE with my promotion going through for the military.
