Training:
Started Dan John’s Recovery and Hypertrophy program and I’m in the second week. So far I’ve liked it. The workouts are pretty quick, and I feel like I’ve needed to add in the weighted carry work. I modified the goal weights pretty significantly because when I’ve run it in the past I thought the weights were too low. Squat goal is 385 for 25 reps, KB kneeling press 88lb, Rack pull 495×25. This past week was 2×15 Squat 275, 315, 335. KB Press was 30, 35, 50. Rack pull was 385, 425, 445.
BJJ:
This week only got 2 training sessions in. Wife is on nights and this is impacting the training. Will be likely 2 sessions a week for the next couple weeks with upcoming travel.
Running:
Proud this has been consistent. Need to set this up more like a 5k template with a tempo run, interval run, and long run. Have more or less been hitting this daily which has been nice.
Sleep:
Overall poor last week. Hopeful this turns around. It’s not the quality it’s the quantity being suboptimal.
Learning:
Been locked in this year which has been nice. Working through A4M cardio module and will complete by the end of the month. About to finish John Maxwell’s book on Personal Growth. Started writing a book, which I’m hopeful to get done by the end of the deployment. Been thinking a lot about a business plan and I’m hopeful that works out in the end.
