Training 12.18.22

Training:
Restarted average to savage 1.0. I have not previously run this back to back and am curious how it will turn out. Week one lifts were squat 365×12, 335×12, 305×25, bench 240×12, 225×12, 205×19, deads 365×18, 8×3, OHP 145×12, 135×12, 125×23. Was more sore than normal and did not feel like I had the muscular endurance that I had previously. It’s interesting that with the same movements and a couple months with an increase in intensity I’m starting from the ground up to build the endurance. Had a cold the past couple weeks and I’m uncertain how much that’s contributing.

Running:
With two of the lifts I ran prior just to restart the habit. Still want to get in 30 min runs on MWF prior to BJJ. This has been a challenge for me and I need to start reidentifying as someone who runs consistently.

BJJ:
3 sessions this past week and they all felt fine. I’m hopeful that with no-gi worlds being over that we get another day in the Gi back. I do think I need to hit 30 min of wrestling prior to open mats on Sundays.

Sleep:
Still down this past week with a total time asleep of 6:00 even. My wife is on nights and I’ve been undisciplined getting into bed earlier. This needs to be a focus this week.

Stress:
It’s been way up. Elected to change jobs and this is much more of a process than I anticipated. I need to solidify the next step over the next month.

Learning:
75% of the way through Ben Franklin’s Autobiography and it’s taking more time than expected. Started to re-read atomic habits. Still waiting to hear if I get promoted to start another military training course. Been doing a lot of planning for the next year and what habits to establish.
