Training Log 12.10.22

Training:
Average to Savage 1.0 Week 15. This is my last week of this training cycle. Overall it went alright considering I was sick most of the week. Squats I hit 500×2, 475×3, 445×6. Bench was 325×2, 310×3, 295×6. Deads worked up to 565×1 for sumo. OHP was 205×2, 195×3, 185×10. I did this as a bench/squat day on Thursday and Dead OHP day this morning. I feel like this total program has continued to work well for me. I’m thinking I’ll just restart the program and work through it again. I’ll likely need a break after the next 15-16 weeks and I’ll look at what I want to do next. My body has felt good and I think I can tolerate the two days a week of lower body work, but when I get into three days a week like programs in the past I overtrain. The upper body stuff just doesn’t seem to push me over the edge.

Running:
None. Did elliptical twice when I was away just to get in light cardio when sick. I really want to be mindful of getting in three 30 min runs a week prior to grappling over the next cycle. This will help in preparation for the ACFT and is a reasonable amount of time to get this in.

BJJ:
two training sessions this week with travel. It kind of worked out that I didn’t go into the gym and get everyone sick.

Sleep:
Did not sleep well last week with the cough and drainage. Total time asleep was down to 6:02. Did not support recovery.

Stress:
It felt good to get away for some training. I was able to sit, think and plan which felt really good. I was able to read a lot and plan out continuing education.

Learning:
Finished David Goggins new book Never Finished, Startup DPC and the Official Guide to Starting your own DPC. Was able to reflect a lot which was nice. I realized how much more productive I was while using my To Do List.
