Training:
This past week was week 9 of Average to Savage 1.0. I think when I’m done with this I’ll just re-run the same program. I need to be more mindful about how to get my running in as I continue to feel like I’m doing the bare minimum. I also think I need to spend some time thinking about the accessory movements. I’ve just been going in and doing things, but I think I need to keep the base movements the same and just work out how I want to do the accessories. This past week went well. Squats were 410×8, 380×8, 355×21. Bench was 275×8, 250×8, 235×23. Deads was 495×8,4,4. OHP was 165×8, 155×8, 145×12.
Running:
Just did a mile and a quarter prior to all of the lifts. I keep wanting to increase this. I’m getting frustrated with myself, because the addition of SS cardio is just a time factor and I continue to prioritize the lifting.
BJJ:
3 sessions this past week which felt good. Still going over leg locks, which is something I consider to be a weaker part of my game.
Sleep:
Minimally better than the week prior with total time of sleep averaging 5:40 with the time in bed being reduced from the prior week 6:09. There were a lot of factors in this, but it was a net problem and I was feeling more irritable by the end of the week.
Stress:
Mixed. Still stressed about finding new employment. I had a good weekend at the SWIS and was trying to get new perspectives. I think I was successful in this.
Learning:
Continuing to do an obesity lecture a day in preparation for the upcoming board test on Nov 10. I’ll have the regen conference after this. Getting the podcasts in has been the constant, but my reading is not where I want it to be. I need to make this a priority as well, but it all comes down to the time factor. I find more enjoyment out of reading than I do lectures, but the lectures have the benefit of working towards something. They both have value.
