Training Log 9.25.22

Training: 
Finished the first block of Average to Savage 1.0. I’m glad I’m back on this program. The first four weeks always feel good and it’s just nice to hit different rep ranges. The above 20 rep sets are certainly something I only get into a couple times a year. This was the rep testing week Deads I took last week and just did speed pulls with 455x3x5, Squat was 430×9, OHP was 160×15, and Bench was 280×9. All of these are off from prior PRs. I feel fine physically, but feel like since my wife went back to work 4 months ago, I’ve been neglecting the accessory movements and volume and it’s leading to a reduction in maximal strength. I don’t feel as beat up as normal. 

Running: 
Still struggling with this. I’ve been increasing my running to a mile before and after my lifting. I know I have to get this in, but it’s always at the bottom of my priority list. I don’t mentally know how to program this in as it’s just more time and I just want to lift or do BJJ. I think I need to do 1 long run a week at a minimum.


BJJ: 
Three sessions this week. We’ve been doing more no gi and I’m mixed about it. I like training in the Gi. Been working more closed guard from a new position and it’s been fun. 

Sleep: 
Just averaging total time asleep of 6:12. This needs to be up closer to 6:30 at a minimum. Time in beds a little bit lower than I want around 6:52. 

Stress:
Mixed. Feel like globally it’s down from the past, but still not great. I think the sleep deprivation is catching up. I’m excited for a vacation soon. 

Nutrition:
Pretty poor as of late. Been floating between 205 and 210. Not as lean as I’ve been in the past
