Training Log 2.12.22

Training: 

Training was going well. Was hitting 315x3x5 on front squats, 405x5x5 on squats, 455×3,3×3 on sumo/convo deads, 205x3x5 on OHP. Have been working more runs in. Had our kid in the middle of the week and have to drop the volume down. I’m running easy strength over the next couple months due to the reduction in sleep and increase in stress with the newborn. I got a couple of workouts in over the past couple days and felt fine. Doing deadlift sumo/convo sets, incline bench, pull ups, swings, and farmer walks. 

BJJ: trained Sunday-Wednesday this week and probably won’t go back in until maybe Wednesday. I’m going to try to get all my workouts done in the morning and maybe do 30 min of easy strength on MWF, Saturday and Sunday. With BJJ on M-F. We’ll see how things go and how my body holds up. The main thing I’m trying to avoid right now is injury. 

Sleep: 

All jacked up. What’s funny is we’re doing split shifts and I took this week off of work so I’m getting more sleep than pre-baby. It’s not continuous, but right now I feel ok. This will likely change with work on top of it all. Total sleep time was down last week to 5:50. This is low due to the birth of the kid. 

Stress: 

Will go up next week. Right now things are pretty straight foward. Just doing different shit for my wife and the baby. Resting HR is heading back down in the right direction and is back around 41bpm. 

Learning: 

Have found a little time for reading. Need to get back on track with my morning and night routines. I’ll have more time for chapter reading when I get back to work. There is a learning period with being a parent.
