Training: Completed the second week of tactical barbell black protocol. Front squats have been 275x5x7s, bench 265x5x7, weighted pull ups 45x5x7, and deads sumo 445×5. I feel like I was slacking with some of the HIIT workouts and I justified with with my BJJ training. I do need to make sure I’m getting my runs in. I started adding mile runs pre and post lifts, as a way to get my milage up. I feel like when I don’t hit deads or keep my runs in, the gains drop right away. I feel like I can keep increasing the weight on these lifts, but that may be a mistake.
BJJ: 5 sessions this week. Training has been pretty smooth. Working through chokes and focusing on my non-dominant hand
Mindfulness: trying to get my journaling, bible and planning done in the morning. I’ve not been as consistent as I would like to be.
Sleep: Mild improvement. My wife hasn’t been sleeping well with the pregnancy and I think that’s impacting my sleep as well. Don’t expect this to improve for half the year.
Stress: Up. Work is starting to consume me again. I need to do a better job with setting boundaries.
Learning: Was doing a great job staying on top of the course. I need to get a paper written this week and I’m procrastinating a lot more than I would like. Still doing the Chek course and about to start another online course.
