Training Log 8.17.21

The focus has continued to be on the development of a routine. I think it’s slowly coming together. The additional question will be is this new normal sustainable or will it change. There’s always potential for disruption.

Training: Week 3 Average to Savage 1.0. I’m a little disappointed my lifting endurance isn’t going as well as the last time I ran this program. Bench 225×21. Dead 485×10. OHP 135×16, Squat 335×19. Those were the rep set numbers. I think I should be using the old numbers as motivation to crank out a few more reps. I can make excuses and attribute it to sleep and not eating enough. I just think I need to increase my focus on these rep sets. I’ve been hitting the runs and they feel fine. I weighed myself and I’m right around 199-200lb. This is the leanest/lightest I’ve been since college. I need to keep cranking up the calories to see if that will help.

BJJ: Trained 3x the past week. I’m thankful that I’m training, but the level of training is way down. I will take what I can get. Makes me more thankful for my gym at home.

Sleep: As expected sleep has been down over the past week. Time asleep has been floating around 6:01 and this should increase. My efficiency is down and I’m hopeful that changes as I get more comfortable in the new environment.

Stress: Up and down. Up with the recent foreign affairs events which may or may not directly impact me. Down because I’m a little more accepting of the daily changes.

Learning: Have continued reading at least 1-2 nutrition chapters daily. Have been working through about 10 books and I’m uncertain if I’m really excited about any of them.
