Training 7.27.21

Training: Last week I continued the 500 Swing challenge to complete half of the 10k program. This week I restarted doing the average to savage 1.0, the accessory work I’m basing off WS4SB and I’ll be doing the 5k template from strength and 5k. I’m really hopeful that I’ll be able to get BJJ up and running. The past two days I’ve had overall great lifts. Squats hit 335×12, 315×12, 285×25. Bench was 265x8x4. I still feel like my bench has relatively dropped off. I’m really focusing on my peri-workout nutrition and I’m curious to see if that helps over the next 3 months. 

BJJ: currently classes are cancelled on base. I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to get classes up and running on post and can do at least three days a week over the next couple months. This would allow me not to take another step back in my training. 

Sleep: Has been absolutely trash over the past couple weeks. Last week my total time asleep dropped by over an hour to 5:10 per night. This was most significantly impacted by the travel days. The sleep score average was 61. 

Stress: Suprisingly last week my HRV was way up prior to the past 3-4 days. More recently it’s gone from 110ms average to 84ms average. This is in contrast to the 122ms average the week prior. Resting HR last week was 40. 

Learning: The plan over the next couple months is to focus on nutrition and supplementation over the next month, repeating the Chek HLC 1 the following month and finishing with ABOM board review over the third month. This should allow me to reach my education goals over the next several months.
