The more we take on – the more we start recognizing patterns, the more we start to deal with inefficiencies, more opportunities are created. My wife was making fun of me for having so much go wrong. I think this is from putting myself in positions where there is more opportunity for this to happen. It may not always present itself as failure, it may present as frustration and a sense of hopelessness. The pattern that if we want something to change, we need to take ownership and action is continuing to repeat itself.
Training: The past week I’ve been doing the 10k swing challenge. I’ve split it up into 2 rotating days. Day 1 I do cleans, deadlifts, and the swings with double KB squats. Day 2 I do the swings with pushups and OHP followed by a low intensity run. On the rest day I’ve been doing a quick TRX workout followed by Yoga. I’ve been doing this as a maintenance program until hopefully I get more resources at my next location. I’m thankful that I even have the equipment that I have. Again I found it to be a challenge to pick the program that I was going to do over this time. Hopefully, I’ll have access to a power rack at the next location so that I can start the hypertrophy and triathlon training.
BJJ: none. Have been watching a concept video daily. I should be doing movement drills as a warm up for the 500 swing challenge just to retain movement patterns.
Stress: globally down. There are recurrent annoyances, but I just need to do what’s requested of me. The average HRV is up to 119 ms and the resting HR has dropped back down to 40, which is close to my baseline.
Sleep: Quality seems like it’s been way down over the past week, but per wearables it’s at baseline. I think this is because the quantity is overall up, but the quality is down. Sleeping more to get the same amount of rest.
Learning: I’ve had a steady rotation of reading over the past week. Been rotating between medicine, theology, sports medicine, nutrition, and finance. I had very aggressive goals starting out and I just need to make sure I’m able to hit the minimum each day so that it’s sustainable.
