Training: Week 2 – Hybrid Athlete – Strength and 10k. This program is very different than the others I’ve been running over the past year. It’s been a good change so far. Big issue has been managing total body stress and the massive increase in volume. The Unilateral work feels great. On the heavy days I hit 300x5x2 on bench, OHP was 150x5x3, 475x2x4 on squat and 460x10x2 on conventional deadlift. It was the first time I’ve conventional pulled in a long time. Running has been going ok. I’m supposed to hit my long run today and hoping my ankle cooperates.
BJJ: Was back up to 5 training sessions this past week. Have been doing a competition class on Saturdays and it wrecked me. I’m uncertain I can tolerate spending that much time training.
Sleep/Stress: Stress is way up. Was a lot more angry this week which wasn’t good. Sleep has overall been poor. Been waking up a lot more throughout the night. Over the past month my total sleep time has just continued to down trend which is concerning. This is while my total time in bed has gone up. I need to keep finding ways to keep the temperature under control. Resting HR is unchanged at 40. HRV has slide down over the past couple weeks as well.
Diet: Not locked in over the past week. Need to spend some time on meal prep today.
Learning: Generally feeling disconnected on this. Have been doing some lecture videos at night, but reading is not where I want it to be.
