Training: Week 5 Average to Savage 1.0. Coming off the max week I’m always amazed how sore I get from the increase in volume. While the last week was a lot more efficient in the gym, this week I’m still focused on doing 2 monster sets, getting the work done and getting out. I’m still putting in 1 weighted carry after every set. I still want to do at least one olympic lifting move on the lower days. Past week was bench 215×23, Squat 315×23, OHP 115×23. I will hit the DL day tomorrow or Thursday and I’m curious to see how that impacts the next week of training. Running has been way up and overall I feel fine. Motivation for lifting is lower than it’s been in a while.
BJJ: With Christmas last week only got in 3 training sessions. It’s been the least BJJ I’ve done in the past 6 months. Probably why I feel fine with the increased running. I’m disappointed with how training’s going overall. My hope is that things pick up again after the new year.
Sleep: Sleep and HRV picked up a lot last week. I think this is mainly attributed to it being the holiday and having an extra day off skewing the averages. I still feel like my sleep schedule is more consistent, it’s just less overall
Stress: The holidays are a good and bad time. It’s good getting to see family. But there’s always holiday shenanigans.
Diet: Diet was overall trash the past week. Lots of Christmas cookies. Too much drinking. I’m planning on doing a dry January. This whole pandemic my drinking has been way up.
Learning: finished Beyond Entrepreneurship 2.0. I’m not connecting with much of my reading right now. Really need to spend some time over the next couple days developing some goals for learning over the next year.
