Training: Week 3 Average to Savage 1.0. I continue to enjoy this program. I feel like I get to challenge myself on a weekly basis with the rep sets. I feel like I’m not overloading myself and overall, I’m just content. Body weight was around 205 this week. I hit 225×22 on bench, 335×16 on squat, 485×6 on sumo dead, and 120×16 on OHP. The OHP day was what I was curious about because I’ve been training Friday-Bench, Sat – Squat, Sun – OHP, and Deads – Tuesday. This is strictly because of the way my schedule falls. Optimally, I would be training the bench on Wednesday or Thursday to allow more rest between upper body days. But this works with my schedule so that’s what I’m going with.
BJJ: COVID is starting to hit our gym so official classes have been cancelled again. The past month or so has been just random stuff from a training perspective.
Sleep: Sleep time in bed was way up to 7:30 and sleep time was up to 6:34. This was a large jump and I’m glad it improved. I still think I like to get in bed for about 7 and a half hours and I feel good on that. My goal is always to shoot for 7 hours a night. I struggle sleeping in much more than that.
Stress: Up and down. The holidays are adding stress. Overall I think things are going well. My HRV was up this past week to 107. My HR average has been sitting higher than the week prior at 41. Overall feel good but I think this is biased by finding out the news about passing a test.
Diet: Making lunches has been a big help for improving the diet. I’ve really enjoyed using the crock pot and instapot to keep this going. My wife has been a huge help in holding me accountable to this.
Learning: Found out today that I pass the Certification Program through the Institute of Functional Medicine. This was a huge relief. It’s been a crazy year and this was a lift trying to get this accomplished over the past 3ish years. I’m glad that first phase is done and now it’s about actually implementing it.
