Training Log 12.1.20

Training: First week over Average to Savage 1.0. Overall, I feel great. Instead of doing three working exercises the cut down to 1 big, 1 big accessory, and accessories has been a needed transition. I feel much better than during the last program. I honestly think it was just too much volume. I also like the drop sets to a rep max. 3 sets is a lot better than the five work sets. I just don’t think I can handle the volume of work sets from the previous program. Sumo Deads 435×12, bench 185×21, Squat 285×22, OHP 100×22. It’s always interesting to see how my rep endurance goes. I’ll be curious to see if I can continue matching the reps if not exceeding them with increased intensity over the next couple weeks. I still need to lock down my accessory work. I’ve been adding in a weighted carry and corrective during the main lift. Still doing a run before the UE days and Bike prior to LE

BJJ: Training has been all over the place. I’ve been training consistently 5x a week, but our instructor has been competing and in and out of the gym. No real focus right now. Could tighten this up.

Sleep: Was pretty marginal last week. I was feeling it towards the middle of the week and expected better with the holiday. 7:20 in bed and 6:23 asleep – rating of 70.6. Felt it in the middle of the week.

Stress: Mild-Moderate with the holidays. I was on call which didn’t allow for rest and I have drill this weekend which will not allow for rest either.

Diet: Did my meal prep again for the week. Last week was mostly marginal with the holiday.

Learning: Just about to finish Cutting Through Spiritual Materialism. Got through my journals which was nice. Not content with the amount of reading or writing I’m doing. Bottom line just need to be more strict with my time.
