Week 6 Notes – Program Post-Deployment Training Log Week 6/12
The Workout: My mindset has just been get in and check the box with training this past week. Overall the training is going smooth and the workout continues to flow. The pull up hangs I kept at a minute and that was more reasonable than pushing the earlier sets for max time. The rack walk I increased the weight to 75 or a 40lb and 35lb KB. I typically try to avoid lifting in the morning and had to do that a couple days this week. Moving the furniture in the middle of this training week had me interested to see how I would recover and it was fine going into the heavy day.
Other training: I’m walking the dog first thing in the morning and it’s nice having time to pray in the morning and get her moving. It’s been a nice start to the day. I’ve been trying to add in the runs at the end of training, but I end up just going home. BJJ has been going well and it’s nice getting a higher training volume in. Still would like to have a day of just hitting the fundamentals and will probably start teaching that class.
Stress: The big stress the past week was the new sleep disruption with the puppy. The first night she was screaming all night and we’re trying to crate train her. Work has been busy which is nice, the pick up in cases has me a little nervous about if there will be another shut down and the potential impact from a business perspective. Diet has been pretty locked in which is helping.
