Week 5 Notes – Program Post-Deployment Training Log Week 5/12
The Workout: Timing couldn’t be better on doing the week with 1 set of 25 reps. I was able to get through all the workouts this week in short time. I kept the carry weights the same, I increased the pull up time 15 seconds, and was finishing in a little over 40-45 minutes. I was more sore throughout the week from poor sleep and moving stuff from the home. I felt like life timing worked more with the drop in total volume than anything else.
Other training: Increased BJJ to 5x a week. It started to catch up a little with the increased volume of moving. Globally decreased the zone 2 training and I think that’s also impacting recovery.
Stress: Up. Went through the move this past week which extended the work days between painting, moving and cleaning. We’re picking up our puppy today. It’s a cross breed Malinois and German Shepherd. I’m very excited to have a dog in the house and it will need walked 3 times a day which will be good for getting the zone two training back up. It will also be good as it gets older I can bring it on some runs. The biggest question will be if my wife likes it.
